iAdvise has a complex project structure including a Steering Committee, Project Team, and Working Groups to ensure wide campus participation at every level and optimum ability for iAdvise to reflect the needs of UIC advising and student success.

Responsibilities
The Steering Team is responsible for:
- Set Priorities and mission
- Resolving any issues that the project team cannot resolve
- Communicating with the campus as project sponsors
- Determining and approving the rollout plan to the units
- Meet monthly or earlier as needed to review the status of the project and the rollout to the campus
- Approve all communications to the campus
- Work with Advising Leadership Council on project goals and priorities.

Roles in the Project Team
The project team roles are:
- Project Manager – Chair: The project manager is responsible for all tasks, timeline and project implementation status for all functional and technical tasks. The project manager will gather requirements, document business processes as needed in the project. The project manage will also oversee the stand up call part of the weekly/biweekly meeting. The stand up call is where the team leads from the working groups will state which tasks are completed, behind schedule and document any issues. The project manager does not make any functional decisions.
- Functional: The functional chair provides input on the functional portion of the project. The person is responsible for making sure the overall functional requirements are met.
- Project Consultant: The project consultant will provide any input that the teams needs as far as campus, technical or other decisions. He is a resource for the team leads and the project team.
- Working Group Team Leads: The working group team leads provide updates and report issues at the weekly/biweekly meetings.
- Vendor: The vendor will work with the project team contacts.

Working Groups are developed to respond to the needs of iAdvise implementation. Currently, there are five organized working groups; however, more working groups may be initiated as needed.

- The role of this team is to handle all of the technical aspects of the project including data imports, connections with various systems and authentications.
